Shan started playing the guitar at the age of six and played the trumpet, drums, and piano for many years.  He studied music at Western Washington University including classical theory while playing in bands in Bellingham.  He had performed in clubs and other venues in the Puget Sound area for over 20 years with a very energetic and driving sound.  He currently teaches guitar, bass and music theory ranging from styles of classical to classic rock and had taught at the Washington Academy of Performing Arts, Mills Music, and Kennelly Keys.  Shan had also written and recorded music for the Guy Madison Band which played on US Radio Stations reaching on the top 10 Billboard charts.
